Lesson
Policies 2011-2012
LESSON DAY AND TIME: Your lesson day and time are reserved for you. Please respect the teacher’s time and arrive on time each week. If you are late, the lesson will still end on schedule, so the following student’s lesson is not delayed.
NEW!! GROUP Make-up Lessons: We are very excited to offer a new policy for making up missed lessons. If you miss a lesson for any reason (unless Keynote closes due to weather), you will be invited to attend a GROUP make-up lesson. We will offer several Group Make-ups each month, from October through May. You may sign up for any topic, any teacher, on any date. Each Keynote teacher will teach two or three one-hour group lessons throughout the year so there will be plenty of choices. Most classes will be taught on Friday or Saturday. A list of classes for the entire year will be available at the front desk. Specific details as to age, level, instrument or general will be included. If Keynote closes due to weather, private lessons will be rescheduled for the same day and time on another week – a break week or in May. Contact Mrs. Grys for questions or details.
CONCERTS: All students are strongly encouraged to participate in at least one Keynote Concert or other event, such as WMTA Auditions, Solo & Ensemble, church or community performance, etc. However no student is required to perform at any events.
SUMMER LESSONS: All students are encouraged to take at least some summer lessons. We offer 3, 4 or 6-week options to ensure that students don’t lose the progress they’ve made during the year. This is also a good time for new students to enroll. Each summer we offer private lessons as well as a variety of interesting topics and classes.A summer flyer is available in late April each year.
WITHDRAWALS: If you choose to discontinue lessons, please notify Keynote School of Music one month in advance. Withdrawals must be done in person at the School office and not with the teacher. No withdrawals may be made after May 1 for the academic year. To withdraw from lessons, a parent or adult student must inform the office staff at Keynote in person or in writing. Refunds will be handled as follows:
- Monthly Direct Deposit payments will be stopped after the month’s notice.
- Lesson fees paid in advance for the session or year will be refunded after the month’s notice
If there are ever any concerns about Keynote School of Music, please call or leave a phone message and we will return your call as soon as possible. Thank you.
