Are we the right music school for you?
Keynote School of Music was founded in 2005 and has grown each year to offer private and class lessons for hundreds of students of all ages. Students come from Shawano, Black Creek, Bonduel, Bowler, Cecil, Clintonville, Gillett, Gresham, Keshena, Marion, Oconto Falls, Pulaski, and Suring. Many students have been with us since 2005, while each year new students find us to be the right choice for them. Please consider the benefits of becoming a Keynote student and find out why we are Shawano’s number one choice for music lessons.
Ten benefits of becoming a Keynote student:
1. Multiple instruments and classes taught in one location.
We offer piano, violin, viola, cello, voice, acoustic guitar, flute, clarinet, saxophone, and trumpet private lessons, as well as pre-school Kiddy Keys classes – something for every age! This saves our students time and money, as one family can take multiple instruments on the same day. In addition, we can provide drum, electric guitar, bass, bagpipe, harmonica and bassoon lessons when there is interest and a teacher available.
2. A large and qualified teaching faculty
We currently have 12 music teachers, all with college training in music performance and / or music education, as well as years of performance experience. Many are members of Wisconsin Music Teachers Association and their students participate in WMTA Auditions. New teachers will be added as we grow. In addition to their teaching credentials, our teachers are patient, friendly and dedicated to providing you with a well-rounded music education while tailoring the lessons to your individual interests.
3. A wide range of music lesson times are available!
Lessons are offered according to each teacher’s availability. There are morning, afternoon and evening lesson possibilities Monday-Saturday, depending on which instrument and teacher you choose.
4. A proven track record of excellence
Established in 2005, Keynote School in Shawano has weathered economic changes and continues to grow each year, with approximately 125 students in 2010-2011. This is because parents know the value of music in their child’s life, and have seen the progress made each year. And adult students have enjoyed the relaxation and personal growth that comes from playing a musical instrument. Our teachers set goals, challenge their students, reward excellence, and make learning fun! And NEW in Fall 2011: Missed private lessons are made up in one-hour group lessons with a variety of topics, teachers, and activities to choose from, which you schedule at your convenience.
5. A comfortable waiting room for parents & siblings
Instead of a home living room or retail store showroom, our clients enjoy a pleasant, professional waiting area with comfortable chairs, Wi-Fi, and the USA Today newspaper. Games and books are available for children too. Parents often enjoy meeting other parents as they wait. We also provide large windows on every studio door so that you can observe your child’s lesson, and most teachers allow you to sit in on lessons if you choose.
6. Music and supplies are provided
Our studios are equipped with everything you need for music lessons, including Kawai and Roland acoustic and digital pianos, CD players, accompaniment CD’s and floppy disks, CD-recording equipment, amplifiers, microphones, a portable sound system and more. Free computer music theory lessons are available during lessons as time allows, or on your home computer for a small fee (www.MusicLearningCommunity.com). We also stock or order all print music needed for your lessons, so you don’t have to drive out of town to get it. You just pay into a declining balance account once, and this covers the cost of your music throughout the year.
7. Free, all inclusive Keynote Concerts
We offer six concerts each academic year: two each in December, March and May. They are open to all instruments and all ages. Students are not required to perform, but many choose to share their musical progress for friends and family. Parents never have to pay admission or any related fees for these concerts. They are held on Sunday afternoons at First Presbyterian Church in Shawano, and a DVD recording is made of each concert and is available for a $5 donation to the church.
8. Professional office staff available six days a week
A staff member is in the office Monday-Saturday for specific hours to answer your phone calls or assist you when you come in. Office hours are posted on the door and are available on our phone message: 715-524-8989.
9. Located in downtown Shawano
With its easy access and central location, Keynote is convenient to many nearby downtown stores, the library, banks, and restaurants. You may even have another child taking dance or karate lessons nearby!
10. Convenient payment plans available
Keynote offers payment for two 16-week Sessions (fall and winter) and accepts cash or checks. Monthly payments are available by Direct Deposit from a checking or savings account, handled through a local bank. Summer lessons may be paid by check or cash for 3-6 week Sessions.
If you are ready to start, you just need to contact us for available lesson times. In addition, we allow a 5-week trial lesson period in September and January, and also “pay-as-you-go” lessons at any time. Whatever your interest and level, we offer “lessons for all ages and stages” and will be happy to answer any questions. Lessons are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis, so contact us today to arrange your first lesson!
